I know it is way early... BUT...
I was in Sydney for the DipCon last week (3 days of Diplomacy!) and I happened to play Battlestar Galactica during the down times.

So now I am hooked on Galactica!
A couple of us are going to get one going at the 7Feb EGF. Are there other takers?
And what time does EGF start these days? Still 11am?

Tristan.

Yes it kicks off at 11am, I will try and find out who will open, I'm sure you will have some takers on B'sG. Not me, my buzz at the moment is War of the roses, york v's lancaster.

Peter Hawes (designer of WotR) was very happy at this :D , but asked me how you were going to play it when there are only supposed to be 3 copies in the country right now & he has 2 of them right here! :doubt:

I have one copy (annotated "First copy sold in Australia" & signed, by Peter) for sale at $150. Can collect from me from Monday onwards. I will be getting stock in a month or more, once it is officially released.
Any takers?

Regards
Julian

This isn't the old War Of The Roses wargame from wayback then?

I remember all the fun we had with it, the tiles were too big for most of the provinces and we never got a game finished - it was all a bit confusing (compared to Talisman anyway).

I'm still gunning for Battlestar Galactica on Sunday. There are 3 or 4 of us so far; 6 would be great - anyone else? (Jeff if you're gonna be a bit late, we can play something else and wait for you.)
Other than that I wouldn't mind another go at Endeavor, even though they force me to spell it wrong.
I'm bringing Darren with me too; he wants a go at Game of Thrones.

... and so on and so forth ...

Cheers, Tristan.

Can't say no to BSG Pegasus but it depends when you want to start. I'd like another go at Runewars first.

If I turn up, (looking like a good chance at the moment) I'll play BSG.

I'm up for BSG or Game of Thrones.

But I'm more keen on Runewars if anyone owns it, or Luna Llena if Ian's bringing it.

I now have Runewars so will bring that and Luna Llena. Might have to pass on BSG this week for about the first time ever.

I'd be interested in Game of Thrones, possibly BSG if I'm in the mood. I think I have determined after the last 2 EGD I have been to that

Riding my bike is a great way to get to the venue as long as I don't

a) Go via the Chandler Bridge and then uphill all the way to Kew Junction or;

b) Go via the Chandler Bridge and try to avoid the hill by taking the winding road (also uphill but a lot longer) around the Yarra Bend park and ends up taking me to the bottom of the hill on Johnston street anyway;

Provided I go via Johnston Street I can push my bike for ten five minutes up the hill and coast down the rest of the way.

Erin, Campbell and I will be there. I'm hoping to play Power Grid: Spain/Portugal - any takers?

Otherwise, Tobago is a likely candidate, so too Endeavour* or Dominion.

We are trying to set up a group of 3 to 4 for Magic Realm

So far:

KK (he's teaching)
Shawn L
Ben S (tentative)

We are hoping to start at 1pm.

Expect to commit at least 3 to 4 hours.

With games like Runewars and BSG jostling for my attention, this is going to be a tough choice!

Tristan: as you said I'm going to be a bit late (maybe 1?) so I think you should go ahead without me.

I really don't think I can pass up an opportunity to learn Magic Realm, so if there's room please count me in.

Jeff

Aah but they don't, any more than Catan or Qwirkle or Carabande are spelled wrong. You may be confusing the name of the game with the similarly spelled English word 'endeavour', from which they may have derived their game name.

Of course, it may just be that they are American in which case we should show them the proper level of contempt by using their spelling in a spirit of irony, cos being American, they simply won't get the joke!!
