Up for Runewars again if anyone is bringing it. Interested in playing a longish game.

Not sure if I can make it yet. If so I'm up for any of Runewars, BSG Pegasus, Shadow Hunters, or whatever else is around that makes a mockery of the name "Euro Games Fest".

Erin and I will be there.

Don't get plexiglass at Bunnings! They charge waaay over the odds.

Glaziers, signmakers, display cabinet manufacturers, picture framers (or Ikea when they have a sale).

Bunnings charge ~$45 for a 900x600mm sheet of 4.5mm plexiglass. Most glaziers sell the same material at $60-70 per square meter, which works out as 1/3 cheaper. People who make illuminated signs and display cases will sometimes sell at cost, too.

Picture framers will generally sell medium weight polycarbonate (~2mm) for about $50 per square meter, or Ikea sell 1000x700mm picture frames for $40. The best option is to get a sheet of 3mm MDF which is the same size as the polycarbonate. Slip the map between the MDF and the poly, then peg 'round the edges with those tiny bulldog clips. I have made a 2-sided one of these for roleplaying games.

I have also used Laserlight - it is essential to clamp it down because otherwise it tends to bow. I don't like it as much as heavier poly. YMMV
